The start

When was the start?

I cant really recall..

Gosh..

Think i am currently suffering from memory loss these days..

Okay let the start be when they started distributing letters to us 2nd years..

Almost everyone got a letter except for me..

Even coursemates with lower CGPAs got letters..

But where's mine?

Missing in thin air..

Omg..

They distributed the letters during Analytical Chemistry class

Imagine how i felt when almost everyone had got one and i didnt have any even though i ws eligible..

It was super duper embarrasing

lol.

Ever since i quitted AIESEC..

I had thoughts of joining GK ever since MayLing started talking about it

I mean..to be frank..

I had always thought of GK as my 2nd choice after AIESEC

It had been so boring lately with only classes and assignments as my companions

Well..

Coincidentally..

When i was at the library..

I saw the GK booth..

And i actually went there to enquire about my letter and write my name down

Thank god i didnt see anyone familiar..

I mean..

I felt as if i was self-praising by telling them i got this this cgpa but why didnt i get a letter?

Lol

Anyhow...

Later someone msged me and said that my letter was lost and they would get it delivered to me later

So that was the story on how i got my letter..

Crazy story right? lol

After i got it..

I persuaded my dad to write me a RM140.00 cheque so that i could become a member.

And that was how i got a membership=)

Thank you dad

And i heard no news regarding it until the day they sent an email saying that we should go for the GK night..

And i thought..

Wow..

Finally an event..

Will it be as happening as the AIESEC night?

Paying RM 2 is acceptable since food is provided right..

But sadly..

I was disappointed..

I sat there for 2 hours listening to MAyLing's speech..

She was talking about the similar things i had already been hearing a year ago..

Then came the email saying that the cert has already been received

And so we went to the induction ceremony..

With JaiBoon,XinTing,KAhYan, SIngYin etc ..

And we all FoodTech ppl took away half their seats at the ceremony

And hmm..

Nothing much happened after that

It was as if after we got their cert..

It was final..

After many many weeks..

They wanted us to go for an interview

Okay to be frank i didnt think i did very well in that interview

I had wanted to become the treasurer..

Then suddenly they told us that they would be having the induction camp that Sunday itself..

There went my plan of going back that week..

After 2 weeks of planning..

But its okay..

I postponed it and decided to go to the camp

After all its only once.

So that day KahYan's roommate BeeLeng fetched us there

We were the earliest there

After going for a tour round K17..

While waiting for the rest to come..we studied food analysis..

Exams the next day..

It was around 9.30 when the next person turned up..

And later more came..

Making up the total of 10

Signing the attendance list..since my name was 4th from the top..

I really thought i was successfully appointed to become the treasurer

Yeah technically i was

But in the end i didnt end up becoming one

Due to the prof

Actually the case was like that..

Since the previous committee wanted everyone to get a post..

They appointed 2 treasurers

And the prof chose the Malay lady over me

I dont know what to say..

Or i should say..

I cant say anything much over here

but one word..

I was disappointed

Is that the way?

I'm not saying that.. hey i deserve the post than you

but we should be given proper chances right?

At least a voting system?

But its already over..

What can i say?

Just put up a brave smile and proceed

And after all..

i told them BS and Valerie and Cat during the interview that..

No matter what post i get i will be contented cz to me all of them does the same work and are equal in ways or another

I mean what i have said

I will keep my words=)

So here life starts for me as a GK committee member

The first meeting will be a reception

Too bad once again i will have to sacrifice my weekend here with no other alternatives

Haiz..

The rest of the committee was great..

Hope we can get along well..

And have less 3-person conversations where the resst of us just stares without even the chance to interupt lol

And Biomed wont always be with Biomed and FoodTech wont always stick with FoodTEch

To the next chapter..

Besides GK..

I am also involved in Food Fair

What dept i'm not sure yet..

Hope to learn more and most importantly get to know more friends =)

Wow this has been a long post

And extremely long one
